En Shooter se da este diálogo en una audiencia entre un coronel corrupto y el fiscal general:Colonel Johnson: What the hell am I doing here? You've got nothing on me. I'm covered. Call the Joint Chief.
Attorney General: That won't be necessary, Colonel, as I have already received no less than a dozen calls from highly ranked in powerfully placed individuals teelling me to let you go. But the joy of checks and balances in our government is that I can, and I am indeed required by law, to tell them to fuck off. This is about evidence and finding out the truth so you sit there and be quiet.

"The joy of checks and balances". Espectacular!!! La idea de due process (proceso debido), que los asuntos legales deben seguir una serie de procedimientos formales, es en si un freno (check) contra el abuso de poder.
No vi la película pero la escena citada no aparece en el libro original de Stephen Hunter "Point of Impact". Igual es buenísima.
En el libro (EXCELENTE y un must read para los gun lovers) el coronel corrupto es atendido mucho mas expeditivamente por el personaje central, Bob (not Robert) Lee Swagger.
Por lo que vi en el link tanto el guion como el casting se apartan bastante del libro.
